Put your nternet protocol setting at “Obtain DNS server address automatically“.

From the juntariman blog: The DNS (Domain Name System) is used to identify you computer when connected to the net. It’s like a phone book in the internet where host names are translated to IP addresses.

Last week Google launches it public DNS and it proves fast and efficient as i tried it to my PLDT DSL connection. Google’s public DNS addresses are easy to remember: 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as preferred and alternate respectively.

Follow the step-by-step procedure below to set your IP/TCP setting at this blog http://juntariman.wordpress.com/2009/12/08/d-i-y-using-google-dns-2/fanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06980367652867322283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5733083312827759912.post-12624439035846704752009-12-08T16:38:00.001-08:002009-12-08T16:38:13.786-08:00Create an Ad-Hoc Network Sharing Point from a Windows 7 Netbook

via PC World Windows 7 Starter Edition, the version loaded onto netbooks, isn't supposed to offer "advanced" features like ad-hoc network sharing. In this one case, however, finding this feature is as simple as typing the right phrase into the Start Menu search.

Rafael Rivera's Within Windows blog points out that while the dialog that normally starts the ad-hoc networking process in Windows 7 is disabled in Starter Edition, simply searching for adhoc allows you to start it up. That means being able to connect other computers, smartphones, and Wi-Fi-enabled devices to your netbook when it's got a net connection. It's not quite as convenient as Virtual Wireless Networking, which you can enable with Connectify, but it does get the job done.
Windows 7 Starter hides but allows ad-hoc networking Continue reading here http://lifehacker.com/5420583/create-an-ad+hoc-network-sharing-point-from-a-windows-7-netbook
fanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06980367652867322283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5733083312827759912.post-33845567221749643032009-10-19T01:00:00.000-07:002009-12-23T00:26:30.489-08:00Online Web-design tools for the beginner
Online Web-design tools for the beginner

From CNET, for more details go to the link at the end of this post. If you're not an advanced Web designer, and you don't want to pay a company to create a Web site for you, there are services across the Web that can help you create the site you want. All of the tools listed below are designed specifically for beginners. If that's you, give them a whirl.

Get your design on

Favicon Generator Tool: Every site needs its own unique Favicon, that little image you find next to a URL in your address bar and on the tabs in your browser. But creating one might not be easy for novices. That's where the Favicon Generator Tool comes in.

Web 2.0 Button Generator: If you want to add a Web 2.0 feel to your site, you'll want to consider using Web 2.0 Button Generator. The site allows you to create a Web 2.0-like button for your site.
When you start using Web 2.0 Button Generator, you'll find that you can choose from three button designs. From there, you can choose a color, modify the text in the button, and decide if you want to add logos to sites across the Web, including YouTube, Flickr, Facebook, and others. Creating the button takes just a few seconds. Once complete, you can download it as an image, place it where you want on your site, and you're all set.

Wordpress Theme Generator: If you're unhappy with the themes other Wordpress users have created, you can create your own with the help of the Wordpress Theme Generator.\

My top three
1. CSS Typeset: If you want to quickly modify a site's design, CSS Typeset is the place to go.
2. Color Wizard: Find the right color with Color Wizard.
3. Wordpress Theme Generator: It's not advanced, but if you want a simple, unique Wordpress theme, Wordpress Theme Generator is worth trying out.
Styles are a set of formats you can quickly apply to a paragraph. For example, by applying a style, you can set the font, set the font size, and align a paragraph all at once.
