Introducing Yahoo! Mail
Yahoo! Mail is an email application that makes it easy to send and receive email messages over the Internet. You may have another email account at work or school, but with Yahoo! Mail you can send and receive email from any computer with Internet access, anywhere in the world. Plus, your Yahoo! Mail account comes with access to Yahoo! Contacts, Yahoo! Calendar, and Yahoo! Notepad. And you have unlimited mail storage with Yahoo! Mail!
It’s easy to begin using Yahoo! Mail—just open a web browser and get started!
Here’s How
- Make sure that the computer you are using is connected to the Internet.
- Open a Web browser, such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.
- Type the following address in the browser’s address box, and press Enter:http://mail.yahoo.com
The Yahoo! sign-in page opens in the browser.
Tip: If you install the Yahoo! Toolbar on your browser, you can open your email with the click of a button. Click here to learn more about the Yahoo! Toolbar.
- Type your Yahoo! ID and password, then click the Sign In button.
Tip: If you don’t have a Yahoo! ID, you can sign up for one on the sign-in page.
Yahoo! Mail appears in the browser and displays your Mail What’s New tab.
Note: If you see status and updates information on your What’s New tab, you have the new Yahoo! Mail home page. Click here to learn about the features of this version of What’s New.
If your mail screen doesn’t have a What’s New tab, you’re probably using Yahoo! Mail Classic instead of the All-New Yahoo! Mail. You can either go to the tutorials for Yahoo! Mail Classic or learn how to switch to the All-New Yahoo! Mail.
What’s Next
There may be times when you prefer to use Yahoo! Mail Classic, such as when you have slower internet connection. It’s easy to switch back and forth between Yahoo! Mail and Yahoo! Mail Classic as often as you want.
- To switch from Yahoo! Mail to Yahoo! Mail Classic, select the Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic option on the Options menu on the right top side of the page.
- In the window that appears, click the Switch to Yahoo! Mail Classic button to confirm that you want to leave the new Yahoo! Mail for now.
This takes you the version of Yahoo! Mail that you’re already familiar with.
- When you’re ready to come back to the All-New Yahoo! Mail, click the All-New Mail link in the upper right corner of the Yahoo! Mail Classic page.
